FAR laboratory taps

Assembly

Installation, use and maintenance
During installation, the fittings must be handled with care, to avoid damage on the coating. Before connecting the fitting to the (water)line, make sure that the line is completely clean, to avoid damage to the internal parts of the tap.
In cases where the concentration of lime in the water is high, it is recommended to use a filter at the start of the line. Especially valves with ceramic headworks may start leaking when lime or other particles is coming between the ceramic discs.

FAR laboratory fittings should only be used for the medium indicated on the colours of the handle, according to EN 13792 (button 'colour coding'). Special attention is required for the use of taps for Oxygen. They need to be treated with special grease, to avoid the risk of explosion.

If the installation is carried out correctly, FAR fittings do not need particular maintenance. If spare parts are worn out after some years of use, they can be ordered separately.

Flange and Pin
FAR taps can be supplied with a heavy flange and a pin (6mm). The pin prevents unwanted turning of the tap once it is fitted, which makes it vandal-resistant.

The position of the pin in the flange is indicated below. The pin is always on the front side of the tap.

Frontal Assembly System
This patented system is developed by FAR and can be used for both water taps and gas taps. After fixing of the special coupling on the back side of the panel, the tap itself can be fitted any time during installation. The advantages of this system are: reduction in the costs of installation, flexibility and the possibility of fitting the taps at the end of the project, which prevents both internal and external damage to the taps during installation.

The frontal montage system is fully tested at a specialised laboratory. The taps for natural gas are equipped with additional protection. They are approved by DIN/DVGW.

An extensive range of special couplings is available, bends as well as T-pieces, for water and for gas. To order the taps for this system, it is important to know the exact thickness of the panel, because the length of the connection part will be made in accordance with this. To mount the tap, first screw the tap into the coupling and put it in the right position. After that, a last turn of the flange will secure the tap properly.

Warranty
The warranty-period on demonstrable production errors is two years.
