Keraion ceramic tiles

Keraion tiles are especially suitable for laboratory worktops. For example, for the KeraTop worktops the Keraion tiles are used as a worksurface.
Keraion tiles have a sublime surface hardness, an excellent chemical resistance and are heat resistant.
All Keraion tiles have a white glazed surface.

Hydrotect
Hydrotect surface refinement for ceramic tiles can be added to all Keraion tiles.

Hydrotect: The effect
Wherever uncompromising hygiene is required, Hydrotect is used. The surface coating for wall and floor tiles combines two unbeatable advantages: an antibacterial effect and extraordinary easiness of cleaning.

The antibacterial effect is based on the principle of the photocatalysis. A catalyst durably baked onto the tile surface effects a reaction between light, oxygen and air humidity. The activated oxygen is capable of decomposing micro-organisms such as e.g. bacteria, fungi, algae, moss or germs. Odours are also eliminated quickly and thoroughly.

Thanks to the Hydrotect coating, tile surfaces become hydrophilic, i. e. instead of being repelled the water spreads to form a thin film on the surface. In this way, dirt is washed down by the water and can be easily removed. As a result the costs of cleaning agents and maintenance works are considerably
reduced. The process is absolutely harmless as regards health. Titanium dioxide, which is the basis of the catalyst, can even be added to food.

Hydrotect-coated surfaces are extremely durable. The coating is applied by baking at high temperatures. In this way, the material is firmly bonded with the tile surface. The photocatalytic effect is permanent and is already activated at normal indoor lighting.
